What Is a Facebook Poll?

You can use Facebook polls for almost anything, from giving feedback to an advertisement or gauging customer reviews on a new product. They are simple to create, and you can manage them using Facebook’s built-in polling system.

In contrast to traditional polling, a Facebook poll helps people gather feedback and responses in real-time. It doesn’t rely on replies to emails, websites, and phone calls. As such, they are more efficient at gathering information and incurring fewer costs.

The polls are designed to be shown mainly to your Facebook page followers. They are a fun way to show your social following some questions. These polls may not be the most reliable, but they provide a great conversation starter. And it can also be a tool to get people involved and to spread the word about your business.

The information you collect from these polls can have great value when used in successful marketing campaigns.

How to Create a Poll on Facebook

There are several ways to create polls on Facebook. You can post polls in the timeline of your group, in a group chat, or your stories.

Facebook Group Polls

A Facebook group is a great place to survey your customers on a specific topic. By creating Facebook polls, you can solicit feedback and generate discussion on a topic. This can also help facilitate your community, making it even more interactive.

1. Find and Click on the Pages Tab, Then Select Your Page

Before anything else:

  • Log in to your Facebook account.
  • Navigate the Group tab; it’s usually on the left side of the Page.
  • Once you’ve found it, click on the group to which you want to post the Poll.

2. Click on “Poll”

Once you’ve been directed to your group page, you should see the “create post” box at the top. Notice that at the bottom, there are options: Live Video, Photo/Video, and Poll. Click on Poll.

3. Type the Poll Question and the Options for Your Poll.

Type in your poll question on the popup box that is now on your screen. It can be anything you want. The options will include the name of each option to vote for and a text description of the option. You can add multiple options to your Poll. You can also change the setting to allow participants to choose only one option or enable them to add their answers.

4. Post It!

Time for the fun part, posting it. After filling out all the needed information for the Poll, click “Post,” and you’re done! Well, not entirely done yet. After posting your Poll, it’s important to monitor the results.

Facebook Group Messenger Polls

Group chats are where most of us are actively communicating. This makes it a great place to post polls because you’ll be able to get quick responses.

1. Go to Messenger

This is easier done on your phone but can also be done on your computer. Go to the messenger app or site and select the group chat you want to post the Poll in.

2. Select Poll

Once you’re in the group chat, press the plus (+) symbol next to the chat box. After this, you’ll be able to see options like create a room, start a video chat, and Create a Poll. Select the Create a Poll option. This process is the same regardless of using a laptop or phone.

3. Type in Poll Details

You should now see a popup box where you can enter your poll question and the corresponding options. Just enter the details necessary.

4. Create Poll

After entering all the poll details, you’re finally ready to send your Poll and get some answers. Click Create Poll, and it will be sent to the group chat.

Facebook Poll Stories

Facebook stories are not limited to just sharing photos or video clips. It’s also a great space to post polls. When your followers scroll through your Facebook story, you’re increasing their engagement with your Page and making them feel that their opinions matter.

It’s important to mention that you can only create Facebook poll stories on the iOS or android application. This is not possible on your desktop.

1. Select Create a Story

On your newsfeed, you should see a “create story” option right at the top of the Page. When you click on it, it will let you choose if you want to create a picture or text story. Choose whichever will suit your Poll.

2. Choose a Photo Background

If ever you choose a picture story, you will be prompted to select a photo to upload. This will serve as the background of your story.

3. Select Stickers and Then Poll

After choosing a photo, select the sticker symbol at the top of the screen. This will display a long list of options like location, tag, question, and many more. You should see the poll option on the right side of the screen. Select it.

4. Enter Poll Details and Post It!

Now for the final part, enter your poll question and options. Unlike with posts, the options allowed for stories are only two. After you’ve entered the details, go ahead and post it and wait for your responses!
