How to Add a Facebook Group Administrator

Whoever creates a Facebook Group instantly becomes an administrator, regardless of whether they use their Facebook Page or personal account.

Follow these steps to add another person or Page as a Facebook Group administrator:

1. From the Facebook homepage, select Groups and then your groups.

Select the group to which you wish to add an administrator, then navigate to its member list. The individual or page you want to add must already belong to the group. If they haven’t already, invite them to join. 

2. Select the three dots next to the individual or page’s name. Click “Invite to be an administrator or Invite to be a moderator.”

This procedure is identical whether a person or a Page is being added as an administrator.

Admins can remove other admins, including you. Therefore, you may choose to make people moderators instead. 

How to Modify the Name of Your Facebook Group

Administrators can modify the group’s name anytime, but members can only do so once per 28 days. In addition, all group members will be notified via Facebook of the name change.

  • From the Facebook homepage, select Groups followed by Your Groups.
